SWATH PICKUP HEADER for the harvesting of phacelia, grass, rapeseed

The swath pick-up is designed for threshing seed grasses, legumes, cereals from desiccated shafts.

The swath pick-up is designed for picking up swaths of previously mown crops with the SWATCH, e.g. rape, mustard, broad beans, buckwheat or seed grass. The machine has been designed to cope with the harvesting of plants that are easy to shed, have a high degree of weed infestation and mature unevenly.

The machine comes in two versions: 3.4 m or 4.3 m wide.

The swath pick-up uses an approximately one-metre-long rubber belt with spring-mounted pairs of fingers. These feed the harvesting mass into the auger which narrows its flow.

There is also an apron between one component and the other. This prevents the tines from dragging the crop back into the stubble. The pick-up requires only one pair of hydraulic couplings to power the orbital motor driving the belt.

Picking up swaths with a standard harvester with a cutterbar results in the grain spilling onto the soil. In addition, the equipment is constantly in contact with uneven ground, leaving it vulnerable to damage. The pick-up, on the other hand, is positioned at the correct height in relation to the ground, with only the pick-up fingers made of flexible plastic coming into contact with the ground. This makes it possible to work at higher speeds of up to 14 km/h.
