Heavy field harrows what are they used for ?
Tine harrows are designed to loosen and level the soil, preparing it for sowing. In doing so, they destroy emerging weeds, mix fertiliser and cover sown seeds and, above all, they level the surface well after winter ploughing and break up clods of earth. The key thing, however, is that they do not pull the soil out of the deeper layers, retaining the moisture it contains, which is highly desirable in recent times.
Tine harrows play a key role not only in traditional, but also in ploughless cultivation systems. They are an indispensable tool, loosening the soil and enabling it to be prepared for optimum plant growth conditions. But just as importantly, they do not disturb the water-air balance, which is crucial in ploughless cultivation.
Which tine field harrow to choose ?
The selection of suitable harrows depends on the specific agricultural work planned and the soil characteristics of the area. It is also worth taking into account the differences in harrowing processes, which can vary according to soil type. For example, when working on light soils, single harrowing is often used, which is suitable for this type of terrain.
LUPUS tine harrows, why do customers choose our machines?
The basis of the heavy field harrow is a frame structure made of only S355 hard quality steel, confirmed by numerous quality certificates and approvals. Thick-walled profiles with 6 and 8mm walls and 12/15mm plates have been used in most of the machine’s components. The working elements, i.e. the fields of the harrows, are made of 60×12 flat bar, where the number of tines per field is 20. The company focuses first and foremost on quality and orders tines of German manufacture that are proven on the domestic market and have increased strength. The link between the frame and the fields is made up of chains, whose breaking load exceeds 5.3 tonnes.
Which tine harrows do we offer ?
We offer our customers 5- field harrows, 7- field harrows and 9- field harrows. We offer our customers 5-field, 7-field and 9-field harrows. The machines can be equipped with a Ø400 string roller and a spear scraper bar with adjustable angle of attack.
Additional options include adjustable single or double front support wheels and spring-loaded track eradicators behind the tractor wheels. Red LED lights at the rear of the machine mounted on a special frame are standard equipment. In the basic version, the working depth is adjusted mechanically by means of turnbuckles or in a ‘floating’ manner by means of pins.

These are probably the most robust field harrows on the market.
Field harrows in areas with high friction and surface loads use lubrication-free sliding bushings made from iglidur G. This is a special material that is resistant to dirt and edge loads, but also has a low coefficient of friction and effectively damps vibrations. The bearings used in the machines are from market-leading companies such as SKF, German FAG.
Normals such as bolts, washers, nuts are galvanised and mostly of strength class 8.8. The paint coating is of the appropriate thickness applied to the previously thoroughly cleaned and bolted steel.
RThe unfolding and folding of the machine is fully hydraulic via cylinders and 2 throttle valves are used to smoothly unfold and fold the machine.
The main frame is very solidly made of 100x100x6 profile and mainly #12 and #15mm plates are used.
On the central frame we have the possibility of securing the arms of the machine during transport thanks to the ‘wing’ plates into which we insert the transport pins.
